Blend Up a Protein Packed Smoothie


Summer is coming to a close and that means back to school time is just around the corner. If you, like many women, struggle to find a nourishing breakfast for yourself or your kids, this month's recipes are just for you!

This breakfast whips up in your blender in less than a minute. And thanks to the use of soy milk, this smoothie delivers eight grams of protein! The oats help add subtle texture while making the smoothie a little more filling, which will help you or your kids power through till lunch.

Strawberry Oat Smoothie

  • 1 cup soy milk
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 banana, broken into chunks
  • 14 frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons white sugar

In a blender, combine soy milk, oats, banana and strawberries. Add vanilla and sugar if desired. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
